Japanese Speech Contest

日本語弁論大会

A Japanese Language Speech Contest (日本語弁論大会) has been arranged since 2015 in Stockholm.

It was originally conducted by an executive committee consisting of The Embassy of Japan in Sweden, the Japanese Business Club (JBC), the Japanese Association in Stockholm, former Ambassador of Sweden to Japan Lars Vargö, and the Department of Asian and Middle Eastern Studies at Stockholm University.
From 2026, SAJP has replaced Stockholm University in the executive committee.

This year’s contest will be held on 14th of February (Saturday) at Stockholm School of Economics, (Handelshögskolan).

The registration will start from 9:30A.M., and the speech contest will start from 10:00 A.M.

13:10-15:10   大学生の部 The speech of university students
15.30-16:30 フィーカ   Fika time
16:30-17:00 表彰式    Award ceremony /closing ceremony    

High school and university students who study or have studied Japanese as a foreign language are eligible to participate.

The deadline for the application is 4th of February.
