Q: I have applied but have not received a confirmation email or payment information. What should I do?
It may take some time to receive a confirmation email with payment information, especially shortly after the application opens.
Please check your spam/junk folder first. If you still cannot find it, please contact SAJP.
Q: Can I change my test level after applying?
No. Once the application has been submitted and the test fee has been paid, changes are not possible.

No. Registration is personal and cannot be transferred.

If you have a seating preference for another reason, please contact SAJP as soon as possible. We will check whether your request can be accommodated.
2. Special Accommodations
Q: What are special accommodations? Who can apply?
Special accommodations are arrangements for test takers who require adjustments to the standard test environment due to a medical condition, disability, or health-related needs.
Examples include:
- Physical disabilities or mobility impairments
- Vision or hearing difficulties
- Neurodevelopmental conditions (e.g. ADHD, LD)
- Medical conditions requiring special arrangements (e.g. diabetes)
Accommodations may include:
- A separate testing room
- Additional test time
- Other necessary arrangements depending on individual needs
Requests must be submitted when registering for the test and are reviewed individually by the Japan Foundation. Supporting medical documentation is required.s.
3. Payment
Q: Can I get a refund if I cancel my participation?
No. As stated in the Test Guide, the test fee is non-refundable once registration has been completed.
Q: I have paid but have not received confirmation. What should I do?
Please allow some processing time. If necessary, contact SAJP.
4. Waiting List
Q: How does the waiting list work?
If a registered applicant cancels or does not pay the test fee by the payment deadline, applicants on the waiting list may be contacted and offered the available place.
A short payment deadline will be given, and the place will be confirmed once payment has been received.
Q: What happens if I do not respond in time when contacted from the waiting list?
If we do not receive a response or payment within the given deadline, the place will be offered to the next person on the waiting list.
5. Test Voucher
Q: I have not received my test voucher. What should I do?
Test vouchers are usually sent out by email in early June. If you have not received your voucher by then, please first check your spam/junk folder. If you still cannot find it, please contact SAJP.
Q: What do I need to bring to the test?
Please bring:
・Your printed test voucher
・ A valid photo ID (passport, national ID, etc.)
・ Black No. 2 / HB pencils
・ An eraser
Please note: Entry to the test venue will not be permitted without both your printed test voucher and a valid photo ID.
6. Test Day
Q: Can I ask for special arrangement for my seat on the test day?
Seating is assigned in advance based on your registration information and test voucher number, so we cannot guarantee a specific seat.
If you require special accommodations due to a medical condition or disability, you should apply when you register for the test.
If you have a seating preference for another reason, please contact SAJP as soon as possiible. We will do our best to accommodate your request if possible.
Q: I will arrive late. Can I still take the test?
No. Late entry is not permitted once a test section has begun. Please make sure to arrive at the test venue well before the start of each test section.
Q: Are there any stores available at the test venue?
No. All stores in the university buildings are closed during the summer period.
The closest store is Pressbyrån at Universitet subway station, which is about a 10-minute walk from the test venue.
7. Cancellation / Absence
Q: I cannot attend the test. Do I need to inform SAJP?
It is appreciated if you inform us in advance, but the registration cannot be cancelled and the fee cannot be refunded.
Q: Does missing the test affect future applications?
No, it does not affect your eligibility for future JLPT exams.
8. Results & Certificates
Q: When and how can I check my results?
Results are available online at:

Results are available from late August to the end of October. To check your results, you will need your registration number and passcode.
Q: What is the Registration Number?
It is your test number printed on your test voucher.
Q: I forgot my passcode. What should I do?
Please contact SAJP. We will be happy to help you retrieve your passcode.
Q: When will I receive my certificate and score report?
The Japan Foundation sends official Score Reports and Certificates to SAJP.
SAJP will then distribute them to test participants, usually around September, depending on delivery time.
